Jaguars Eye a Full 2028 Home Slate in Jacksonville in Shift that Could End Wembley Run
Mark Lamping said the team wants a full 2028 home slate in Jacksonville after a $1.4 billion stadium renovation reopens.
Jaguars president Mark Lamping announced Saturday the team intends to host all 2028 home games in Jacksonville, coinciding with the reopening of EverBank Stadium following a $1.4 billion renovation.
Construction has already begun at EverBank Stadium with reduced capacity this season, prompting the Jaguars to relocate most home games to Orlando next season during ongoing infrastructure improvements.
Jacksonville will play its 16th London game on Sunday against the Houston Texans at Wembley Stadium; these international contests are separate from NFL-mandated games assigned by the league.
While the team holds an option to play three home games in London next season, Lamping described the likelihood of that move as "remote," noting it was designed as a contingency for Gainesville.
The Jaguars were early adopters of the NFL's international push, beginning annual Wembley games in 2013, though the economic incentive for continuing these overseas home games has been decreasing.
