Jadan Baugh Powers Florida Past Auburn 44-39 in SEC Opener

On Saturday night, the Florida Gators defeated the Auburn Tigers 44-39 at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama, opening Southeastern Conference play. Running back Jadan Baugh powered the offense with 162 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
Producing 495 total yards, the Gators achieved their first 3-0 start since 2019 and first SEC road win since 2024. Quarterback Aaron Philo completed 15 of 22 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown.
Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns, keeping the Tigers competitive until the final seconds. Coach Alex Golesh's conference debut saw Auburn finish with 373 total yards.
Defensive linemen Emmanuel Oyebadejo and Jayden Woods combined for five sacks, disrupting Auburn's offense throughout the contest. Vernell Brown III sealed the victory by recovering an onside kick with 23 seconds remaining.
The Gators return home next week to face Ole Miss, while the Tigers host Vanderbilt. Head coach Jon Sumrall earned his first signature SEC road victory, establishing early momentum in his tenure.
