A heatwave has reached Portugal, bringing with it forest fires. The biggest concern for authorities and residents at the moment is the fire in Vouzela, in the Viseu district. Spain and Italy have already sent aid to the Portuguese to fight the blazes.
The Italian government today sent two Canadair amphibious planes from the National Fire Department to support Portugal in combating forest fires, the Italian Department of Civil Protection reported in a statement.
