PARIS (AP) — Two French news channels backpedaled and apologized this weekend after they misidentified images of protests in Albania as demonstrations taking place in France.
The chains showed demonstrators who were supposed to be in Paris, as well as police officers behind water cannons supposedly in Lyon. However, these videos came from Tirana. Both apologized.
During their directs on the mobilization of 24 October in France, the two continuous news channels showed instead images of masked demonstrators marching through Tirana.
The news channel CNews apologized this Saturday, October 24, 2026, after showing and mispresenting images of demonstrations in Albania such as those taking place in Paris.
The news channel CNews has apologized even though the journalists on the stage have minimized the error
