Is Antonelli favoured by Mercedes? Wolff responds to latest claims
Wolff said Mercedes gives both drivers equal material and dismissed online claims after Russell’s engine failure and grid penalty fueled speculation.
On Friday at the Singapore Grand Prix, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff rejected claims of favoritism, dismissing suggestions the team is sabotaging George Russell to benefit Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Conspiracy theories emerged after Russell suffered a late engine failure in Malaysia last weekend, forcing him into an early power unit change and a grid penalty for Singapore.
Wolff insisted the team provides equal opportunity to both drivers, citing his long-term relationship with Russell and his experience managing Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg as proof of balanced management.
Responding to critics, the team principal called the allegations "brainless" and suggested speculators "watch Teletubbies," criticizing those who hide behind screens to abuse the team on social media.
Antonelli leads the championship by 84 points with seven rounds remaining, though both drivers continue receiving equal material as Mercedes maintains competitive integrity throughout the title fight.
