Nov 5 (Reuters) - AI data center firm IREN on Thursday delayed some infrastructure deliveries for Microsoft and laid out another $15 billion in spending, even as a rout in AI stocks puts the sector's massive buildout under pressure.
The network changes requested by Microsoft for its AI models and the risks identified in the construction of Childress keep the IREN calendar in Texas under pressure. The company had set the goal of delivering the pending phases in the fourth quarter of 2026, although an external analysis warned that Horizon 4 could be delayed until 2027. The agreement with Microsoft is valued at $9.7 billion for five years.
