- Judge Abolqasem Salavati, sanctioned by the United States as the "Judge of Death," presided over Fahim's trial, which Iran Human Rights characterized as "grossly unfair" after the defendant was "subjected to torture and denied access to legal counsel."
- Following the hangings of Mohammad-Amin Biglari, 19, Shahin Vahedparast, 30, and Amir Hossein Hatami, 18, last week, rights groups warn three other men sentenced in the same case remain at imminent risk of execution.
- IHR director Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam stated these killings are part of a "strategy of survival," urging the international community to make the regime's systematic use of capital punishment a central condition in any future negotiations.
