iPadOS 27.2 beta 1 now available for iPad
Apple skips the expected 27.1 beta and starts testing iPadOS 27.2, with companion releases for watchOS, tvOS and visionOS.
- On Wednesday, Apple released the first iOS 27.2 developer beta, skipping the expected iOS 27.1 update following the recent iOS 27 launch.
- Since the iPhone Duo will launch Friday, October 23 with iOS 27.1, Apple may hold that update until then to keep features under wraps.
- Registered developers can access the beta via Settings > General > Software Update; watchOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2 betas also launched following earlier this week's watchOS 27 and tvOS 27 releases.
- The beta may reintroduce Messages Suggestions and Passwords app features removed from iOS 27, while a redesigned Health app could arrive later this year.
- Future iOS 27.2 updates may include Siri support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in October, coinciding with the iPhone Duo launch.
