Despite the wildfire evacuation order being lifted for Fort Simpson, Transport Safety Board (TSB) investigators are still unable to get to the wreckage of a firefighting plane that crashed near the community on June 24. Jonathan Lee, the TSB’s western regional manager, said staff can’t get to the crash site as wildfire smoke still lingers.
