Orange County Wi-Fi Installer Allegedly Texts Client's Sexually Explicit Video to Himself
Police say the installer used a fake Wi-Fi test to access a customer’s phone and send a private video to another device without consent.
- On Friday, Sept. 11, Irvine Police Department officers arrested Logan Edward Gray-McCannon, 37, of Hemet, for allegedly sending himself a customer's private, explicit video while installing GFiber internet service.
- During the early August installation, Gray-McCannon asked to use the customer's cellphone to "test the Wi-Fi" signal; the victim checked on him after 10 to 15 minutes but could not see his actions.
- Although the installer deleted the outgoing message from her phone, the victim discovered the explicit video on her linked iPad and traced the phone number to Gray-McCannon, the technician who had been in her home.
- Officers booked Gray-McCannon into the Orange County Jail on charges of commercial burglary, sharing a private sexual image of a person without consent, and unauthorized computer access following his arrest at his Hemet home.
