Orange County marked International Overdose Awareness Day on Monday with a ceremony to honor lives lost to addiction.

Waterloo Region marks 25th International Overdose Awareness Day

Aug. 31 marks the 25th International Overdose Awareness Day. The annual global campaign aims to end drug overdoses and remember those who have died. A public gathering will be held in Cambridge's Soper Park on Monday morning. Julie Kalbfleisch, director of public engagement at Sanguen Health Centre and the co-chair of the Waterloo Region International Overdose Awareness Day Planning Committee, explains the importance of marking the day.
