- On Wednesday, the International Hot Rod Association announced it has purchased Rockingham Speedway, with Darryl Cuttell, Owner of IHRA, linked to the acquisition.
- Financial records indicate unpaid vendor and repair bills as documents showed Dan Lovenheim had more than $600,000 in unpaid bills, and the track sought $375,000 t for SAFER Barriers, Richmond County Commissioner Jamie Gathings said.
- IHRA plans to restore and enhance Rockingham Speedway into a multi-use destination with facility upgrades, improved fan amenities, and concerts and festival-style experiences.
- In the coming months, IHRA will release details about the Easter weekend event, with advance tickets available at www.racetherock.com and www.trackenterprises.com including NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series West activities.
- IHRA leadership framed the purchase as part of a broader strategy to revitalize historic motorsports venues and anticipates collaborating with Bob Sargent and Track Enterprises.
