The US food company, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has shut down all its 11 branches in Denmark after food safety authorities deemed them unhygienic after inspection. KFC in Western Europe informed DR late Tuesday evening that the chain will close its 11 Danish restaurants until new management is found.
KFC has closed all its restaurants in Denmark after it was discovered that there were serious health and safety violations. The chain's licensee in Denmark was Icelandic Bjartmar Þorsteinsson, whose father founded KFC in Denmark in 1986.
