- The former coach previously worked with NBC during the 2012 London Games. Rivers noted, "It's funny when you think about half the staff, I've either coached or been the father."
- Rivers will provide analysis across NBC, Peacock, and NBCSN throughout the season, leveraging his experience as a player, coach, and executive. He said this role allows him to "focus on giving TV my 100% attention."
- Assessing the upcoming NBA season, Rivers characterized the East as "very, very much top heavy," while identifying Minnesota as the "much-watched team of the year" due to its high-level talent.
