Inmate Mayki Cagen Herrera Paredes escaped the night of Tuesday, September 8 from Archbishop Loayza Hospital, where he was hospitalized for an abdominal hernia and was guarded by two prison officers.
Subject served an 18-year sentence for aggravated robbery, but was taken to hospital after a diagnosis of abdominal hernia.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Espá, reported that Peru will join the Shield of the Americas, a regional mechanism that seeks to articulate efforts against criminal organizations engaged in activities such as drug trafficking, money laundering and human trafficking.
