The INE confirmed that inflation accelerated in August to 3.3%. Gas oil was the main culprit, with prices rising almost 8% from July to August.
The data released this Thursday by the INE confirm the rise of inflation to 3.3% in August. An increase that was driven by the increase in the price of fuels.

Annual rate of price rise was 3.3% in August, an acceleration against the rate (also homologous) that occurred in July, 3.0%. Increased fuel price explains the rise.
The increase was 0.3 percentage points compared to July. The INE says this evolution is "almost entirely explained by the increase in the price of diesel."
National Statistical Institute argues that the underlying inflation (total index excluding unprocessed food and energy products) showed a variation of 2.6%, the same value as in July.
The increase in energy prices was particularly significant in the last month, with this rate rising from 8.7% in July to 12.2% in August.
