The annual inflation rate in Romania rose sharply to 7.8% in July 2025, compared to 5.7% in the previous month, data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) show. Compared to June, general prices increased by almost 2.7%, which experts consider a significant acceleration. The highest price increases were recorded in non-food goods, with an advance of approximately 5% in a single month, while services increased by about 1%.

Romania's annual inflation reached 7.84% in July, driven by energy consumption and food products.

The average inflation rate since the beginning of the year has reached 5.8% and compared to the same month last year, the annual inflation has reached 7.8%.
