Energy prices drive another increase in industrial producer prices
Industrial producer prices were 4.8% higher on average in August 2026 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Domestic output prices rose by 5.0% and non-domestic output prices by 4.7% compared to August 2025. Compared to the previous month, domestic output prices went up by 1.9% and non-domestic output prices by 3.3%, thus, industrial producer prices as a whole became 2.9% higher.

Export sales prices of the energy industry increased significantly, exceeding the level of a year earlier by 48.7 percent. The increase in prices also sharply increased industrial prices, with the producer price level increasing by 2.9 percent in a single month, and the Central Statistical Office (KSH) measured an increase of 4.8 percent on an annual basis. Such a high value has not been seen since last summer.
In August, industrial producer prices exceeded the previous year's average by 4.8 percent, while the previous month's by 2.9 percent, according to data just published by the Central Statistical Office. It is particularly noteworthy that, as a result of international market processes, export sales prices in the energy industry increased by almost 50 percent in one year.
