The government has reduced import duties on LPG and plastic raw materials to 0% for six months. This policy aims to mitigate the impact of rising global prices and maintain stable food and domestic industrial prices amid geopolitical tensions.

On Tuesday, the Indonesian Minister for Economic Affairs, Erlanga Hartartu, announced his country's intention to eliminate import duties on certain plastic products as well as liquefied petroleum gas used in the petrochemical industry, in order to help plastic producers cope with the shortage of "breath." Erlanga said - as Chanel News Asia was quoted in its English-speaking publication - that this decision would come into effect next May.
