- On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar met Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Manila, stating stable India-China relations foster a "multi-polar Asia" and a "multi-polar world."
- Jaishankar recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping "agreed that differences should not become disputes" during their October 2024 Kazan meeting. "It is the duty of diplomacy to properly manage them," he said.
- The meeting followed the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila, where Quad foreign ministers reiterated support for Indo-Pacific stability and discussed transnational security, economic opportunities, and critical technologies.
- In a separate meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Jaishankar expressed "strong concern" regarding Indian seafarers' safety following a Russian projectile strike near Odesa that killed four crew members.
- During discussions with U.S. State Marco Rubio, Jaishankar stressed the importance of "predictability of supply chains" and "fair market access" to strengthen bilateral economic and security cooperation.
