In which I spot an unusual form of wildlife near my apartment

I was going outside my apartment recently when I heard an unusual noise coming from under a bush. Needless to say, curiosity got the best of me. Beneath the bush was a bird, a little smaller than a chicken, with white and grey plumage.It was, what I can only suspect, a quail.I have no idea if it was wild or tame, but I took several pictures and deeply appreciated seeing how beautiful such a small creature is.
