A prominent Russian lawmaker has suggested that Moscow could supply Venezuela with advanced weapons systems, including the new Oreshnik ballistic missile, as Caracas desperately seeks military assistance amid the escalating US military build-up.
Russian State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev said that the Russian Federation supplies Venezuela with a wide range of weapons and that there is nothing preventing Moscow from also supplying Caracas with Oreshnik or Kalibr missiles. This was reported by the Russian Gazeta server, according to which Zhuravlev said this in connection with a possible US ground operation in Venezuela.
