The signal frightened residents of several settlements of Lublin Voivodeship
By mistake, sirens sounded in Zamość and the Biłgoraj, Zamość, Hrubieszów, and Tomaszów counties early Sunday morning. The signal was accidentally triggered during previously planned silent tests, the Lublin Voivodeship Office (LUW) announced.
"Instead of a silent test, an audible signal was mistakenly activated," reports Zamość Mayor Rafał Zwolak, following the unexpected activation of sirens in the Lublin region. On Sunday, just before 10 a.m., the constant sound woke Zamość residents from their sleep. The city mayor and the voivode's spokesman spoke.
