Latvia will impose new restrictions at its border checkpoints with Russia and Belarus, allowing only motor vehicles to cross, the government announced Tuesday, citing an alleged surge in refugees.
Starting Wednesday, March 19, Latvia will close three border crossings for pedestrians: Grebnevo and Terekhovo on the border with Russia, and Paternieki on the border with Belarus. This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers, Delfi writes.
The corresponding decision was made today by the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia.
