Youth in Hostile Environments (2/6). In 2014, in Xiamen, China, Dutch photographer Sarah Mei Herman met four lesbian students. Over the years and through their changing lives, she continued to follow them, carefully capturing in her portraits a truth that these young women, confronted with the taboo of homosexuality in Chinese society, hide from their families the rest of the time.
