A report by Ecologists in Action confirms a drop in air pollution in 2024 due to the evolution of the energy system

A total of 31 million people in the state--two thirds of the population--were exposed during 2024 to pollution levels that exceed the new limits approved by the European Union (EU) for 2030, according to Ecologists in Action. Still, air quality in Spain improved over 2023 and the years prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and a "essential" factor to explain it is the recent evolution of the energy system.
