'I'm not a chicken': Senior citizens bare nearly all for charity calendar
The fundraiser follows a women’s edition that sold 250 calendars and raised about $3,000 last year, organizers said.
The Monroe Center for Healthy Aging unveiled its 2027 fundraiser calendar, titled "Naturally, The Other Half," featuring male volunteers posing in playful, tasteful photographs to help raise money for the center.
Inspired by last year's successful "Calendar Girls" project, the men requested their own version after seeing the enthusiasm surrounding the original effort, according to Director Sandie Pierce.
Photographer Amy Fuller captured the images while most men used props to maintain modesty, preserving the fundraiser's lighthearted spirit throughout the shoot.
Organizers hope to match last year's sales, which generated about $3,000 for daily operating expenses, while the center hosts a calendar-signing event to promote sales.
The experience provided participants with something new to focus on, with 91-year-old Danny Richardville joking, "I'm not a chicken" to emphasize his enthusiasm for the project.
