Idaho Ranks 3rd in the Nation for Wage Growth, New Data Shows

- The Department of Labor reported an overall wage increase of 4.7%, or $1.31 hourly; while this represents growth, it marks the lowest percentage increase in a three-year cycle following gains of 8.3% and 5.1%.
- Wide disparities persist between occupations, as anesthesiologists and physicians earn between $216 and $166 hourly, while Fast Food and Counter workers—the largest occupation—total over 25,000 employees earning a median of $13.91.
- Gov. Brad Little stated, "Rising wages mean more opportunities for families," yet the $49,091 required living income for single adults remains $2,000 above the median statewide annual income of $47,970 reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Employment grew 1.5% from 2024, an increase of more than 12,000 people, as the southwestern region became the only area to pass $30 per hour in 2025, reaching an average hourly wage of $30.76.
