Dodgers Broadcasters Put Rivalry Aside to Honor Retiring Giants Commentator Mike Krukow
Krukow ends a 36-year broadcast run as the Giants honor him after the finale, while Duane Kuiper remains sidelined by cancer treatment.
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, San Francisco Giants broadcaster Mike Krukow called his final game at Oracle Park, concluding a 36-year career in the booth alongside longtime partner Duane Kuiper.
Krukow, 74, announced his retirement in August, stepping away to manage inclusion body myositis, a degenerative muscle disease he has battled since 2006.
The duo, former teammates on the 1983 Giants, called games together since 1990 and narrated three World Series titles during their partnership.
San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie declared Thursday 'Kruk and Kuip Day,' while Giants president Buster Posey called Krukow 'one of the greatest and most important Giants of all time.'
Although Krukow retires, partner Kuiper intends to continue his broadcasting career next season, despite announcing earlier this week that he is battling throat cancer.
