ICC sentences Sudanese ‘axe murderer’ militia leader to 20 years in prison over Darfur war crimes
The International Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced Ali Muhammad Ali Abd-Al-Rahman, a leader of the feared Sudanese Janjaweed militia, to 20 years in prison for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Darfur more than 20 years ago.
Ali Muhammad Abd-Al-Rahman, former commander of the Sudanese Janjaweed militias, was sentenced on Tuesday 9 December to 20 years in prison by the International Criminal Court. He had been convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Darfur between 2003 and 2004.
