The IBF has removed Zhanibek Alimkhanuly from the midweight world belt after a violation of the anti-doping rules was confirmed. In a resolution adopted by its Board of Directors, the body invoked Rule 18 of its regulations to justify the immediate vacancy of the belt, considering that the pugil cannot comply with his mandatory defence, fixed before 4 July 2026.
