Analysis of extraordinary water sampling from 43 wells, cisterns and springs in Lika-Senj County shows that the water in 33 of them is chemically clean and safe, while the presence of PFAS compounds was determined in two wells, one of which exceeded the permitted value, the Croatian Institute of Public Health announced on Friday.

The Institute explains that such a finding is expected with raw and untreated water from private wells and other individual water facilities, which do not have the purification and disinfection procedures that exist in public water supply systems.
