HYBE Launches New Label ‘ABD,’ Set To Debut New Girl Group
The label will focus exclusively on female acts as HYBE deepens its multilabel strategy and seeks fresh concepts in a crowded K-pop market.
On Friday, HYBE announced the launch of ABD, a subsidiary label dedicated exclusively to the development of female K-pop acts.
This launch deepens HYBE's decentralized multi-label architecture designed to foster creative independence while reducing the company's historic reliance on a handful of flagship acts.
PLEDIS Entertainment's Head of Artist Planning Jiwon No will serve as ABD's President, while Sung Soo Han spearheads production to pursue "unconventional ideas" and "artist-focused production."
ABD is slated to debut its first rookie ensemble in the second half of 2026, introducing "new musical styles and concepts" to capture fresh market energy.
HYBE's expansion follows record-setting first-quarter revenue of 698.3 billion KRW driven by BTS's comeback, positioning the company to compete in an increasingly crowded global music landscape.
