Hyundai Motor Unveils the All-New TUCSON, Its Boldest SUV
The fifth-generation SUV adds Pleos Connect with Gleo AI and an XRT Pro trim with Smart Terrain Assist and 8.3 inches of ground clearance.
- Hyundai revealed a posh new version of its big-selling Tucson SUV with a plug-in hybrid model targeting an electric range of 50 miles and rugged styling. CEO Xavier Martinet said, "We could have played it safe and simply evolved a successful model. But that is not Hyundai's style."
- Growing to 4,560mm long, the new Tucson features sharply defined body lines and pronounced wheel arches for a more rugged appearance. The PHEV powertrain pairs a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor to produce up to 288bhp.
- Inside the cabin, drivers access the Android-based Pleos Connect infotainment system via a 17-inch touchscreen. The AddGear system accommodates fragrance diffusers, while the interior features soft padding on the dash and multiple connectivity options.
- European Tucsons will be built in the Czech Republic, arriving with a five-year warranty, roadside assistance, and vehicle health checks. Digital Key 2 technology allows smartphones and smartwatches to unlock and start the vehicle.
- At the Paris Motor Show on October 12, Hyundai will reveal a version of the Tucson with different styling. This expansion follows the current launch, broadening the Tucson lineup.
