North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of Agriculture Gorißen has appealed to the population not to enter the forests because of the current drought. Almost all forest fires result from human misconduct, said the CDU politician in Deutschlandfunk. In the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Düren, around 1,400 forces continue to fight against the forest fire near Hürtgenwald.
