Huntsville City School System plans to close 3 schools, build new schools, move 6th graders in long term plan

Huntsville City School leaders will be holding meetings over the next two weeks to talk about their newly unveiled capital plan. The plan includes building several new schools, closing Chapman Elementary, closing Mountain Gap Elementary and Middle Schools and moving all Huntsville City 6th grade students out of elementary schools and in to middle schools. There’s no timeline for when all 6th graders will be moved.
