Possible Human Remains Found Inside Chimney at Queens School
An exterminator found possible human remains in a chimney after a foul smell prompted a school inspection, police said.
The NYPD discovered possible human remains inside a chimney at Anthony Pranzo School in Glendale, Queens, around 9 a.m. today after receiving reports of the discovery.
An exterminator inspecting a foul smell from the chimney discovered a shoe inside, prompting the call to Police, according to The Source.
No students or staff were inside the building at the time, as the New York City academic year ended last week for public schools.
Authorities are investigating the discovery while the medical examiner will determine the cause of death and possible identity of the remains.
City Buildings Department records confirm recent permits for wiring and hot water heating, indicating contractors had been working in the building lately.
