HOARDINGS have been erected around Glasgow's George Square as work begins on landmark's £20million revamp.

The main contract for the transformation of George Square and the surrounding streets has been awarded to Rainton Construction.

Rainton Construction has been appointed to refurbish George Square and its environs by Glasgow City Council, ahead of a site start in June. The £20.5million contract covers the square itself as well as connecting streets which are to be paved in stone.
