The eight-episode mystery thriller stars Hudson Williams and Carrie-Anne Moss and will debut on AMC+ later this year, AMC said.
- On Wednesday, AMC+ acquired exclusive U.S. streaming rights to Crave's original drama series Yaga, announced at the AMC Global Media Upfront Content Showcase. The eight-episode series will debut later this year.
- Based on the hit play by Kat Sandler, who serves as writer and showrunner, Yaga reimagines the Slavic folk tale of Baba Yaga as a contemporary mystery thriller set in a small coastal town.
- The series features a cast including Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid, Clark Backo, and Hudson Williams, with each 30-minute episode weaving together elements of witchcraft, horror, and mystery.
- Sphere Abacus, a Bell Media company, secured the distribution deal, following the series' recent acquisition by Sky for the United Kingdom and Ireland markets.
- Courtney Thomasma, EVP of Linear & Streaming Products for AMC Global Media, said the show fits the platform's desire to "super-serve our passionate and discerning fanbases" while complementing existing witchcraft-themed franchises.
