In the first three months of this year, the Housing Price Index (IPHab) had recorded the first deceleration in almost two years, since the second quarter of 2024.
In the second quarter of this year, 40,142 housing units were traded for a total of EUR 10.7 billion.
INE index for house prices, at national level, points to a 16.5% homologous increase, a slowdown compared to 17.8% in the previous quarter (also in homologous terms).
Housing prices slow down in Portugal
House prices rose 16.5% in the second quarter compared to the previous year, down 1.3 percentage points from the previous quarter and marking the second straight quarter of slowing, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Despite the rise, house prices have slowed for two quarters. Sales fell 6.4%, but the value of transactions increased and reached 10.7 billion euros in the second quarter.
The price of housing in Portugal continues to rise, but the rise lost strength between April and June. Prices rose 16.5% compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
