House prices are rising fastest in Utrecht

One of the biggest problems facing Greek society is housing. Young couples in particular, as well as seniors who are both on limited incomes, find it difficult to find adequate housing that fits their incomes. The reason housing costs are disproportionately high relative to incomes in Greece is one: demand is greater than supply. Agis Veroutis writes.

Utrecht remains the city where housing prices are rising the fastest. In the second quarter, homes in the municipality were worth an average of more than 17 percent more than a year earlier, reports valuation technology supplier Calcasa. At the beginning of this year, Utrecht was also the city with the fastest rising house prices.
