Running Back Zander Horvath Hitting Highs for Streaking B.C. Lions
Horvath has 355 rushing yards and six touchdowns during the streak as B.C. prepares to host Saskatchewan on Sunday.
On Sunday, the BC Lions aim to extend their three-game win streak against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, with Zander Horvath leading the charge after amassing 355 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
Lions head coach Buck Pierce attributed Horvath's recent success to increased opportunities and growing comfort in the system; the 27-year-old American has already eclipsed his 231 rushing yards from last year.
Saskatchewan head coach Corey Mace described Horvath as a "behemoth of a human being," while Horvath credited the team, stating, "It's everyone doing their 1/12 on the field."
BC leads the league in rushing offense, averaging 116.9 yards per game, while Saskatchewan's defense allows 64.6 rushing yards per game, creating a significant matchup advantage.
Although Saskatchewan defeated the Lions 31-27 on June 13, head coach Corey Mace acknowledged the Lions are "a better version of who they are" ahead of Sunday's contest.
