Hong Kong universities rank among the world's top 100
Hong Kong is Asia’s most improved higher education system for a second year, with five universities in the global top 100, QS said.
For the first time, two Hong Kong institutions reached the top 20 in the 2027 World University Rankings published by Quacquarelli Symonds, with five universities consistently ranked among the world's top 100.
An Education Bureau spokesman attributed the success to the HKSAR Government's steadfast investment in education and support through the University Grants Committee, enabling institutions to recruit world-class scholars.
The University of Hong Kong maintained 11th place, The Chinese University of Hong Kong rose 14 places to 18th, and 20 subjects placed in the global top 10 in the Best Global Universities Rankings.
Notably, CUHK, HKU, and The Education University swept the global top three spots for 'Education and Educational Research,' underscoring the city's academic prowess in cultivating talent and research.
The Government is promoting the 'Study in Hong Kong' brand, aligning with the National 15th Five-Year Plan to attract international talent through initiatives including the expanding Belt and Road Scholarship.
