Mickey Rourke Evicted over $60,000 in Unpaid Rent After Turning Down $100,000 in Donations
- On Monday, a judge issued a default eviction ruling granting landlord Eric Goldie possession of Mickey Rourke's Beverly Grove home after the actor failed to defend the eviction complaint.
- On Dec. 29, the landlord filed an eviction complaint alleging $59,100 in back rent after a three-day notice served on Dec. 18 on a lease raised to $7,000 per month.
- In January, Rourke's team launched a GoFundMe campaign started by Liya-Joelle Jones, with Kimberly Hines listed as benefactor, drawing around 2,700 donors who raised more than $100,000 shortly after posting.
- Rourke rejected the crowdfunding aid in a Jan. 5 Instagram video and urged donors to reclaim donations, having already left the Beverly Grove home for a West Hollywood hotel while awaiting a Koreatown apartment.
- The court's order returned possession to the landlord and did not seek financial damages, and Kimberly Hines said the fundraiser was done with Rourke's permission despite his dispute.
