Parted in the calm and good mood of Place Guichard, the demonstration of 11,000 high school students, teachers and parents was gangrenized by a black block of 300 people, on Tuesday 13 October. Between ransacked agencies, targeted service station and massive bursts of tear gas, the procession was finally forcibly dispersed at Totem, long before its arrival.
A banner of teachers' and parents' unions was confiscated by CRS on Tuesday during the high school demonstration in Lyon, where members of the SNES-FSU order service received beatings of batons. The high school demonstration in Lyon on Tuesday, supervised by the teacher union FSU, could not come to an end. The police dispersed it with great reinforcements of tear gas and charges, by decision of the prefecture after "attack of a gas station".
According to the Rhône prefecture, about 11,000 people took part in the demonstration of 13 October 2026 between Lyon and Villeurbanne. Degradations and clashes led the authorities to call for the dispersal of the procession. See more
