He's flying! Ali Louis Bourzgui lands a Tony nomination for ‘Lost Boys’
Ali Louis Bourzgui’s performance as vampire leader David helped The Lost Boys earn 12 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.
Actor Ali Louis Bourzgui earns his first Tony nomination on June 7 as the musical The Lost Boys receives 12 nominations, including Best Musical, at the 79th Annual Tony Awards in New York.
Bourzgui stars as vampire leader David in the Broadway production at the Palace Theater, taking on the iconic character originally made famous by Kiefer Sutherland in the 1987 film adaptation.
Director Michael Arden oversees the production, which requires Bourzgui to perform complex stunts while suspended in the air by wires, creating a physically demanding role.
Drawing on experience from his Broadway debut two years ago, the Ithaca College graduate notes the show's intensity requires him to maintain focus during performances.
The ceremony at Radio City Music Hall on June 7 is hosted by Pink and will air live, recognizing theatrical achievements including this new vampire musical adaptation.
