LANCASTER COUNTY, NEBRASKA, JUL 09 – Six former Huskers, a state college All-American, and two contributors will be inducted, with Johnny Rodgers named the first Hall of Fame Legend honoree.
- On Wednesday, Husker Athletics revealed the newest group of Nebraska Football Hall of Fame inductees for 2025, featuring notable players from various time periods as well as a special recognition for a legendary figure.
- The inductees were selected by the chapter's membership and include Johnny Rodgers, Nebraska's first Heisman Trophy winner, and several accomplished players and contributors.
- The honorees feature a range of players from various periods, such as Tom Welter who played offensive line in the 1980s, running backs Derek Brown and the late Dahrran Diedrick, kicker and punter Brett Maher, wide receiver Kenny Bell, linebacker Bob Nelson as a veteran inductee, and Tom Sutko representing state colleges.
- The induction ceremony for the class will be held on Friday, Sept. 12, followed by a recognition event the following day at Memorial Stadium during Nebraska's matchup with Houston Christian.
- This class reflects Nebraska's football heritage across decades and recognizes significant athletic and program contributions, reinforcing the program's storied history.
