Heavy rains and storms following record temperatures in eastern Austria have caused flooding and damage. In lower Austria, 321 firefighters responded to approximately 400 incidents. A weather warning was issued in Vienna for hail and strong winds. Concerns about drought continue across the country.

A heavy storm caused chaos on Thursday evening in the district of Bruck an der Leitha. Within a short time heavy rain and storm flooded roads as well as cellars, while fallen trees hit houses and cars. Around 321 firefighters were in permanent use in hundreds of missions to free people from emergencies.
