Formally paid families in Argentina are in the final stages of a period of the year dedicated entirely to covering their 2025 taxes. Starting June 22, "tax independence" will begin, meaning they will have access to their income to meet their own needs. This calculation, carried out by the Argentine Institute of Fiscal Analysis (IARAF), offers insight into the impact of the tax burden on family income.
The formal tax burden in Argentina remains a heavy backpack for wage-earner families. A new study by the Argentine Institute of Fiscal Analysis (IARAF) estimated that, in 2025, the tax pressure on workers’ incomes and consumption reached between 47.3% and 49.9% of annual income, depending on the wage level. That is, the State (national, provincial and municipal) remains, through taxes, with approximately half of what workers produce in a year.
