Forecasts of stifling temperatures during the day with little relief overnight have prompted a heat warning for southeastern Manitoba, including in Winnipeg, but by the end of the week the thermometer will be back around the freezing mark.

First heat warnings of 2025 issued in Ontario
Heat warnings have been issued for parts of northwestern Ontario amid “the first heat event of the season.” Environment Canada has issued the warnings for areas west and northwest of Thunder Bay. For areas in the southern part of the warnings, including Kenora, daytime highs of 28 C to 33 C are expected, the weather agency said.
